Maurice Lacroix Marks 50 Years with a Poetic Return to Its Roots
In the serene folds of the Jura mountains, where the fog hangs low and the forests whisper of time’s passage, Maurice Lacroix has spent the last half-century perfecting its language of elegance. To mark this milestone, the Swiss maison unveils three limited-edition timepieces—each an ode to its home in Saignelégier, and to the legacy it has built since 1975.
The 1975 Legacy Collection is a triptych of refinement, marrying heritage and modernity in equal measure. Each piece wears the distinctive Vagues du Jura dial motif like a fingerprint—unique to the maison and unmistakably drawn from the topography of its birthplace.
1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue
Limited to 888 pieces · CHF 1,400
The headline act of this commemorative suite, the Saignelégier Blue, draws deep from the archives. Its cobalt dial, etched with Vagues du Jura, speaks in tones of both tradition and reinvention. That distinctive blue—historically used on early models—returns here in crisp, contemporary form.
Encased in 40mm of brushed and polished stainless steel, this svelte 9mm profile houses the automatic ML155 calibre, visible through a sapphire caseback. With 56 hours of power reserve and refined decoration—including perlage and a wave-engraved rotor—it is both elegant and efficient. Dauphine-style hands and trapeze indices complete the look, while a matching date disc (a purist’s delight) ensures chromatic harmony.
A blue leather strap with Easy Strap Exchange functionality invites versatility.

1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green
Limited to 500 pieces · CHF 1,690 · Available Autumn 2025
In celebration of the evergreen forests that cloak the Franches-Montagnes, this model embraces Sapin Green—a shade as rich and resonant as the landscape it draws from. Under a vintage-inspired box sapphire, the dial reveals both date and day apertures, the latter sitting proudly at 12 o’clock.
At the back, a solid caseback bears an engraving of two Franches-Montagnes horses among fir trees—a quietly stirring tribute to the region’s soul.
It’s paired with a five-link stainless steel bracelet, alternating brushed and polished surfaces, and again equipped with the Easy Strap Exchange system.
1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist
Limited to 200 pieces · CHF 1,990
Perhaps the most poetic of the three, the GMT Silver Mist evokes the dawn mist that blankets the Jura hills. Its silver-toned Vagues du Jura dial radiates calm and clarity, offset by warm golden accents. A red-tipped GMT hand marks a second time zone—perfect for the modern wanderer.
Inside ticks the ML165 automatic calibre, invisible yet unwavering, behind a nature-etched solid caseback.
The piece is offered on a black alligator-style strap, with a stainless steel deployant clasp and, naturally, the brand’s Easy Strap Exchange feature.
As Managing Director Stéphane Waser aptly reflects, “We are proudly crafted in Saignelégier.” And these timepieces, with their thoughtful details and rich symbolism, are more than watches—they are keepsakes of place, time, and purpose.
